Common questions
Do you see clients in person?
All sessions are online via secure telehealth, which means I can work with anyone located in South Carolina. Many clients find telehealth easier to fit into their week and just as effective as in-person care.
How long are sessions and how often do we meet?
Sessions are 50 minutes. Most people start weekly, then space out as things feel more stable. We'll find a rhythm that works for you.
Do you take insurance?
I'm a private-pay practice. I can provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Please check with your plan about your out-of-network mental health benefits.
How do I know if we're a good fit?
Fit matters more than almost anything else in therapy. I offer a brief consultation so you can ask questions, get a feel for how I work, and decide whether to move forward — no pressure either way.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of what your services may cost. I'll provide one before we begin, and you can ask for an updated version anytime.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes. What we discuss stays between us, with a few legally required exceptions (such as safety concerns). I'll walk through confidentiality in detail during our first session.
What if I'm in crisis?
This site and the client portal are not for emergencies. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. You can also call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
